Q1. What do you do at DWF?

I am a partner in the finance and restructuring team, heading up the team in Manchester. I joined the firm on 12 January from Clyde & Co.

Q2. Why did you choose your profession?

I studied for a GCSE in law while in the sixth form and really enjoyed it. I wanted to become a commercial lawyer because I was interested in business and finance, and it has been great to be able to combine that with being a lawyer, finding solutions for clients and helping get deals done.

Q3. What's your favourite thing to do outside of work?

Spending time with my family – especially attending gigs and festivals. My teenage daughter was brought up listening to the Stone Roses and Oasis and loves indie music – the next gig we are going to is an up-and-coming band in February (the Lilacs – check them out, they’re great) and then it’s the legendary Happy Mondays in March!

Q4. If you could have any three-course meal, what would it be?

I’m a foodie (it was inevitable - my mum was a home economics teacher and trained chef!), so this is almost impossible to answer! I love all kinds of food! Can I name two very different places I’ve eaten recently in Manchester instead? Skof (wonderful gourmet experience, went there for the first time just after New Year) and This & That (a “rice and three” canteen/café which serves fabulous authentic curries, unbelievable value and a Manchester institution since 1984 – I’ve been going there since I was a trainee in the late ‘90s!).

Q5. What three words would a client use to describe you?

Commercial, hard-working, friendly.

Q6. Finally, what is your favourite thing about DWF?

Everyone has been very friendly and welcoming, thanks - the collaborative team culture here is excellent, and there are great opportunities for us all. I look forward to working with you!
