Multidirectional attack on misleading pricing and unfair selling practices: The Competition and Markets Authority has announced the launch of a major campaign against the use of what it sees as misleading and unfair consumer market pricing practices. The Competition and Markets Authority which has the powered under the Digital Markets and Consumers Act 2024 to issue penalties of up to 10% of global turnover has initiated enforcement investigations of 8 businesses and sent warning letters to 100 more over ‘drip pricing’ and unfair use of ‘time clocks’ and other time pressure advertising tactics.
