Consultation launched on revision of regulations on reporting of workplace injuries, diseases and dangerous occurrences: The Health and Safety Executive has issued a consultation on proposed changes to the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013 (RIDDOR).Proposed changes include revision of both the list of dangerous occurrences, to better reflect modern workplace risks, and the list of reportable occupational diseases, reintroducing some conditions previously removed from the list and adding new ones. It is also proposed to replace the requirement for a doctor to diagnose a reportable occupational disease to allowing diagnosis by registered health practitioners. Grocery Code Adjudicator to move under sponsorship of DEFRA: In a move described as ‘To strengthen fairness across the UK’s food supply chain and better support farmers and food producers’, responsibility for the Groceries Code Adjudicator (GCA) will transfer from the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) from 1 July 2026. Regulatory bodies to work together to tackle poor practices in motor finance claims: The Financial Conduct Authority, Information Commissioners Office, Advertising Standards Authority and Solicitors Regulation Authority have agreed to set up a joint task force to coordinate activities to tackle issues relating to motor finance claim providers.
